FAQ
What happens after booking my first appointment?
After booking your first appointment, you will receive a confirmation email with all the relevant details and important information.
Are in-person visits available?
In-person visits are not available at this time but may be offered in the future. Until then, all consultations will be conducted via telehealth on Zoom.
What to expect during the First Appointment?
The initial session is focused on building a connection with the client, ensuring they feel comfortable, and gaining a clear understanding of their concerns.
For clients under 18, the first appointment is held with the parent or caregiver only. This allows for the sharing of background information and helps establish a shared understanding of key concerns between the parent/caregiver and the psychologist.
How long are the appointments?
Each appointment typically lasts 50 minutes.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, simply log in to your client portal and make the necessary changes. Be sure to review our cancellation policies before making any updates.
Do I Need a Referral to Book an Appointment?
No, a referral is not required to make an appointment. However, if you wish to claim a Medicare rebate, a valid referral from a GP, paediatrician, or psychiatrist is necessary. You may also be able to claim through your private health fund – please check with them before booking your appointment.
Can I claim the session on Medicare?
Yes, you can claim the session on Medicare if you have a referral plan from a GP, Paediatrician, or Psychiatrist. Medicare rebates are available for up to 10 sessions per calendar year or up to 40 sessions per year under an Eating Disorder Plan.
Are the sessions covered under my private health insurance?
Please contact your private health insurance to make sure that you are eligible for psychology services under your private health care policy.
How Secure is my Information?
Your confidentiality is a top priority. In accordance with our professional code of ethics, everything you discuss with your psychologist remains strictly confidential. However, there are a few circumstances where confidentiality may be legally or ethically breached:
- Duty of Care – If there is an immediate risk of harm to yourself or others.
